It is a single lamp socket ceramic base. Has two sets of mounting holes but will need to knock out the interior if you want to use them. by Edward Attia

It seems durable and well made. So far the chain moves very smoothly - will update the post if the chain fails ( as it did on all versions cheap we bought in the past) . by B. J. Thomas

Initially I bought a device similar to a big box store ( Leviton was the supplier ). The chain broke after four months use. by Bryce Nesbitt
